It’s commonly recognized that the planet’s movement slows down, which makes it appear to go “backward” in motion. The expression of this planet then, may not be as direct as it usually would be.

A planet “ingresses” into a new zodiac sign, which means its energetic expression shifts in element and modality. Instead of expressing through a fiery energy, which is dominant, expansive and energetic, changing into an earth sign means the planet would likely slow its expression, becoming more focused on steadiness and practicality.
