Astrocartography Line Meanings

astrocartography line meanings

An Astrocartography reading involves taking your birth chart, along with the energies within it, and placing it around the world to see what areas might have a certain theme when you visit or live there. The lines you see in the astrocartography chart are connected to the planets in the birth chart. Some of those lines and planets may have a more positive influence, while others might present more of a challenge.

When contemplating a significant life change, such as moving, it could be comforting to know that you're going to a place with a more positive influence. Personally, I wasn't into astrology when I made a big move in my life from Chicago to Phoenix. However, my intuition, or perhaps my spirit or soul, already knew what I needed. After moving, I delved into astrology and astrocartography, and it was fascinating to see how my relocation aligned with a Jupiter line on my astrocartography chart!

As a therapeutic astrologer, I had the privilege to be invited on the Healer Revolution podcast to discuss the different themes and areas of life that are explored when you move to new locations, and how your birth chart can help you understand what those themes might be. Let’s recap the main points I shared about astrocartography below!

Relocation Chart Meaning

Along with the astrocartography map, I could also look up a person’s relocation chart to see if there will be a different focus in an area of life when you're in a new location. Your birth location is important, and changes to the energies and life themes could occur if you move to a new location. We could pull up a relocation chart to see if the houses in the birth chart would shift, and along with it, the priorities you would experience in your life at that new location.

How does a Relocation Chart work?

Let's say I originated from Chicago and I'm in Phoenix, AZ. I would take my exact birth date and birth time, but instead of putting the location as Chicago, I would put it as Phoenix to see what could have changed during that time of birth. You'll see the most change in the relocation birth chart if you're moving a very drastic distance away from where you originated.

Is Birth Time Needed to see Astrocartography lines?

Yes, the time of birth is important because that's what essentially sets into place where the houses in the birth chart, and subsequently, the astrocartography lines are. If you don't have the time of birth, you can get a general look at your energies, but you can't necessarily pinpoint which area of life those energies will be most represented in. Additionally, the astrocartography lines would change location depending on the time of birth, so it’s a crucial part of receiving an accurate reading.

Understanding Positive and Negative Lines in Astrocartography

Let’s start with a disclaimer: you could still have lots of good things happen on a ‘negative’ line, and vice versa, you can still have some challenges on what’s usually labeled a ‘positive’ line.

That's part of the mistake that people make; they think, "Oh, I'll just find this line, I'll go there, and everything will be great." I've met people, and they've explained to me how some of their experiences were unexpected, and that they didn't think that would happen. But this was more so because of a deeper need to explore and develop the energy of the planets and zodiac signs in that area. If you can be mindful and prioritize alignment though, then yes, there are some lines that will lean towards a better experience than not.

Best Astrocartography Line Meanings

Sun Astrocartography Line

A Sun astrocartography line will connect to the way you shine; it's the way you illuminate yourself the best. If it's a good aspect, then it's probably a lucky one. A little fun fact the astrocartographers of the day have noticed is that people who have a Sun line going through Hollywood tend to be the celebrities and whatnot. It makes sense since that is the area of them illuminating themselves and being seen by the world.

Venus Astrocartography Line

Another lucky astrocartography line is the Venus line. Venus is the planet of luck, love, and abundance. So, of course, you would think, "Okay, I'm going to find the love of my life there," and that can be the case, or a partner could have lived or originated from where your Venus line hits. There's also a similar love line connected to the Descendant, which can be linked to finding “the one”.

Moon Astrocartography Line

If you really want to be in touch with your emotions, go to a moon line, and it will definitely happen. But across genders, that could show up differently because men are not going to be as emotional, right? And if they’re moving to a moon line, they're probably going to have to go inward more and experience those emotions they've been suppressing a lot. So, it might be tougher for them to do that than if a woman went to her moon lines.

True Node Astrocartography Line

The true node is also like your purpose and mission in this life. If you're really wanting to fulfill your potential, go to your true node line. Probably, there'll be something there for you. I'm really curious, even myself, like I know where mine is, and I'm like, "Oh, it's just so interesting to think like, what could happen if I do that?" All the blessings and synchronicities might come up there!

Jupiter Astrocartography Line

Jupiter lines are also typically very lucky, and it happens to be a line I'm living on right now. Jupiter expands everything in life. It's a continual evolution and continuous expansion, which I absolutely have had in Phoenix, AZ for the last seven years. That would technically be a good thing but it's kind of tough as well to constantly be expanding and going into the depths of releasing and letting go of my old self. I've had a lot of expansion, and I've also had connections fall away. So, a Jupiter line is not always the easiest, but a worthwhile journey for sure, and I've enjoyed the whole expansion part of it.

Difficult Astrocartography Line Meanings

Saturn Astrocartography Line

A Saturn astrocartography line represents restriction, karma, lessons, and discipline. Just the sound of that, you might think, if I go there, I'm going to go through some difficult lessons, probably to get more disciplined and learn to align. Saturn, even though it's very tough on you, serves a good purpose. Think of trying to rough out a diamond, right? Ultimately, all of that tension reveals a beautiful shine.

Pluto Astrocartography Line

A Pluto astrocartography line is a very deeply transformative energy, so think of the Tower card in tarot—things falling apart and then rebirthing from the ashes. It's going to require a lot of effort, probably, to face those inner roots of whatever is misaligned in your life or needs healing, but it will be worth it.

Chiron Astrocartography Line

Similarly, a Chiron line is linked to the core wound in our chart, so we call it the wounded healer or an Achilles' heel of your energy and will likely be a location focused on deep inner healing. You could likely expect to encounter activations and triggers with people and situations acting as mirrors of the deeper wound so you can learn, grow and respond in a new way.

Mars Astrocartography Line

Mars astrocartography lines can be difficult because Mars represents the god of war and aggression. You may find all these difficult, angry experiences here. It's also a proactive energy, so Mars likes taking action and moving yourself forward, constantly on the go, constantly in your masculine energy. It's the opposite of Venus, where you're just kind of receiving the blessings and just receive all this love. Mars activates; you're on guard, you're defensive, and you're trying to move forward as well. So, it's a lot of energy to be on a Mars line.

My Mars line is in Miami, and I've intuitively always been like, no thank you, I don't want to be there. I had an uncle living there, and I would visit often with my family. There's just something about that environment that I didn't fully connect with, and it's probably because I was already experiencing a lot of masculine activation within me. I was like, I don't need more of that; I do not need more of this really strong, masculine energy. In fact, I need to go elsewhere to start to bring something else up within me to heal that energy.

The Benefits of Astrocartography

Astrocartography and astrology help bring what's not been as developed to the surface. They offer you a means to see, like, “Oh, I might need to work on that.” Perhaps you've been suppressing it, been in denial, or haven't practiced it. When it was time for my soul to start expanding, it just naturally and intuitively led me to Phoenix, AZ. Then afterward, I noticed, “Oh, look at that, there's a Jupiter line there.”

That's part of the empowerment piece; it's like you're actively co-creating it with the universe—your journey and how it's going to look will be more powerful. It’s those who are willing to take a look at that, be aware of it, and say, “Oh, this is the challenge. OK, I accept it; let me work with it.” It's going to be a lot easier this way than if you keep resisting the evolution of yourself.

Ultimately, we should want to master all the zodiac signs and all the planets because the most holistic you can be is to understand each part of your expression as a human being on this Earth to the best of your ability.
